Wandering Inn 1.04

Oh hey look. I leveled up in the banner.

Level in dreams? You mean you only level up when she is asleep. That, somehow oddly makes sense.

Well, after resting she went to get some more food.

I guess she forgot about the stream nest to her Inn. But given how she doesn’t have a way to purify it yet, getting water from fruits is probably the safer option.

I hope you guys realize that this is making me want to read survival manuals for in case shit like this happens. Because that is what this is making me think of.

I can’t believe that there is a minecraft reference here. I was making shit up.

So the trees don’t have fallen branches or bark to strip or anything, which is really weird. I guess she has to burn the fruit for fire. At least when she figures out how to cut that tree, she has instant knives and spears.

The best way to process everything that has happened? She cleans, cleans and thinks of what has happened while she was here. How she won her fight, how she found the fruit, how she survived.

Looks like leveling up means that the dust just….disappears. Which is weird, but I like it. The higher she climbs, the easier and longer things stay clean.

Again, you literally jumped over a stream from before. There is water.

So poetic really.

She’s a pepsi person. I prefer coke, but to each their own.

Uh, hey, actually, this is bad. To be hot and not sweating, yeah there is something really medically bad. Better find some more food other than those blue fruits.

She finally remembers the stream and refreshes herself. It actually reminded me of a scene in Gerald’s Game, how you can try to remember that moment of survival but it will soon be forgotten because of time. Not really relevant to this story, but a bit nostalgic for me.

Remember kids: don’t do that.

So she manages to finally get herself clean. And maybe want to explore, but the inn is her best protection that she has.

Too bad there is now a new monster coming up on her.

Now at least she has meat. And can use the teeth as a weapon.

You didn’t do anything. The fish jump jumped and suffocated on air. I’m actually not sure if the fish is dead.

Figures. The world just hates her.

Eventually the fish does die. And is hard as steel. Everything is just more harmful in this world.

Time to cook. With the Inn’s only tools in the entire place: knives.

I don’t know why I like this line, but I do. A lot.

So she starts cooking, or more like hacking away and struggling, but then she cuts herself and

Looks like her leveling up also adds in to her defense and health points. Either that or she can’t injure herself with her own weapon.

You know what? I should really stop saying things like “oh her leveling up does x y and z for her” because, no. No it does not. She just cut herself on her hand, it’s gonna hurt!

And so she spend the rest of the night in pain, trying to fall asleep, trying to distract herself from her bandaged hand. I want to think that if she just falls asleep she will be healed like that, but I don’t know anymore. This is becoming real.
