I think the reason I like Homestuck is that, yes the heroes managed to fight and escape the 2nd-level bad guy, and now have to deal with the 3rd-tier Super bad guy, but the 2nd-level bad guy is still a threat and still wants to fight for his own purposes.

What other show/series have you seen that does that?
