Because, from John’s perspective, 2 years has passed.

But time is nonexistent for Ghosts, so it could mean that 2 years has passed since Tavros & Vriska died and they began ghost dating.

Or it could be another Tavros/Vriska offshoot that decided to pair up.

Hell, I don’t even know if it is Vriska!

It is just that Tavros really wants that fucking ring, and I am rooting for John to keep it.
