( When GC tells dave his “Bro wont be there to bail him out this time”, she was referring to when Bro cut the meteor in half when Dave entered, because if he hadnt Dave wouldnt have entered in time and would’ve been hit by it)

Ah, see when I first read that I wasn’t sure what she was talking about. But after the video with the meteor thing, it all makes sense

( “It is nice to get an explanation like this, but why is it that the “Reckoning starts when the Black King gets the power? Why not the white king who gets the black scepter?” 1) White King never gets the black scepter (see: white always looses). 2) Only the Black King wants destruction. Even if WK got the other scepter he wouldn’t want to use the power to start the Reckoning. )

ok yeah, I get that the in the context of SBURB the white pieces lost, which has the 4 players rise up to defeat the Black pieces. But in general, why is it the black side always the evil side and the white side is always the good side? I mean I get the symbolism, white=good, black=bad, but sometimes I just want to shake it up a bit, you know?

(If you havent caught on to the parallels between karkat and john yet, id recommend rereading the first 5 or so pages in the comic, as well as pages 80-82. It’s not super important overall, but it is sorta interesting (or at least I think it is) )

Yeah, I got the naming thing because all of the kids have to go through that one way or another. But seeing how they both see an empty street and having a “long day” is pretty interesting. I’m going to have to keep an eye out for more parallels between the two of them from now on

(Just a reminder, we’ve see ~ATH come up before along with the other punny coding languages John has dabbled with (pg. 4 & 11)

I was looking back and

image

You’re right. I didn’t know. John also has the same shitty programming books as Karkat.

Also how long has this ink-oil crap been following you John!? This was on page fucking 15.

( Nice try, but Jade was the one who crashed into the bakery. Check the dates, and the kids’ birthdays. )

No no no. I got you here. See, Nanna (way back when) killed Betty Crocker in her bakery, as stated below.

image

Jade was launched into a Betty Crocker Factory. And you know what Factories have?

Robots

Machines and Robots

So my theory of “meteor’s crash into the future child’s interests/skills” is still plausible!

( …I’ll be fair and say that ectobiological incest is probably the least of some shippers concerns and leave it at that aha… but Hussie sent a tweet that “canonized” all ships in an act of “magnanimity”. So all ships, somewhere in the universe, are real. The degree of realness’s is up to you though lol )

Well given the complexity of the kids biological existence, it would be hard to shift it all out.

But it is nice of Hussie to give leeway for the fans on their ships. I don’t think I have seen any creator (other than for Rick&Morty and TAZ) where they actively say “yeah this is my story, but i’m sure there’s another universe where your idea is right, so go ahead and enjoy yourself.” Those kinds of people are pretty cool.

( can’t wait to be a useless piece of shit and fall down all these burns” “no you messed that up” Again, another SB&HJ reference. GC actually HAS read Dave’s comics surprisingly so she tried to meme at him, but she didn’t quote it exactly leading Dave to say she messed it up (probably more out of general annoyance at being talked to right now than actually giving a shit about quoting his works exactly). )

image

(Psst - “Useless piece of shit all day” is also a SBaHJ reference, to the very first comic in fact. Dave said she malessed it up because she got the reference wrong )

(John didn’t say distraction, he said distaction. He was referencing SBAHJ)

God I just keep missing everything on this, don’t I? Now I can’t tell if I want to read the comics so I will understand the in-verse in-jokes, or if I shouldn’t because I want to see how many references I will miss over the course of Homestuck,

image

( “The can ruse was a distaction” is a quote from SB&HJ. John is memeing at Karkat (notice his misspelling of “distraction”). That’s why he said nevermind, Karkat has no understanding of what he’s referencing and John wasn’t going to explain Dave’s weird comic to him )

Ah. I should just read these comics I guess, because apparently Dave sees these comics in his visions and is using them to future tell as memes. Maybe, eventually.
