See kids, this is what I call the history of computing in one tutorial or less.
The punch cards from before? yeah, it was originally based on sewing machines and needles, with the needles going in/out of the holes. The first computing machine was a math calculating loom from like the (*hand-waving*) late 1800s. So yeah computers were built with that idea in mind.
Then we move on to scanners, bar codes, outside sources to take information and record it from sensors. Developed in the 50s/60s to help a grocery-store owner keep track of stock.
So this goes from Punch-cards to Bar Codes to Alchemist 3D Printing. Aren’t computers grand?
