They can manipulate time with the Time Knight or whatever…so these are an older Dave and Rose. They can’t win, but they have a way to reset.

So their only hope is to find as much information as they can, then send it back to the past to their younger versions to prevent whatever tragedies from happening. 

These kids are battle hardened veterans who saw their friends die and still try to press on…
