John’s timeline has him jump to Dave and Jade to interrupt them, jump elsewhere, jump back to Dave and Jade only to be interrupted by his future self, did more things elsewhere, then did a controlled jump back to Dave and Jade to interrupt his past self before he interrupts those two.

Basically: John was right, this power is complicated.
