Her entire life she had to be strong, physically and mentally, in order to survive. Physically so she wouldn’t get killed trying to kill trolls, and mentally so she could stave off the guilt from killing so many people. So if she flounders like this, she sees it as a weak point that could lead to her possible death/social stigma.
