Oh, more background around the Peachy Joke. The lore deepens.

It is pretty cool that Hussie was so attuned to his fanbase that he would adjust the story around them, whether to make a point with the Trickster Arc or just changing a joke. (why must assholes and racists ruin everything).

But actually…..it is only this ask that made me realize that they actually had skin color during the Trickster Arc. That blew Right by me. I was more weirded out by their actions and outfits that I just, didn’t process that they had skin color. I think I thought it was psudo-orange Hussie skin and left it at that.

Trickster Arc Review

I think I just need to write this down, because…..I just need to.

Cherubs being anti-social means that the only way they can become “happy” and “interactive” is if….literal juju magic happens.

I guess I was fucking right on the “mating” thing. Because if Caliborn and Calliope did merge willingly, then their jujus would have merged, they would have been fused and turned trickster, and fly around to make babies.

Trickster Mode is literally the only way for them to politely reproduce without being murdered.

The Sucker Swirl is an alluring trap by all. And you just need to touch another person to pass it on. Like, throwing a pumpkin on their head, kissing them, or kicking them in the balls.

Kicking them in the balls is probably the most unnecessary thing they could have done.

Gamzee being weirded out by this means that you know weird shit happened. But glad we can find one thing that can freak the clown out.

I think my favorite part is that Dirk still wasn’t affected by going into Trickster mode. (If he did I would have gone NUTS). And while in canon it was said that because Dirk is such a hard-ass about his own feelings that he can’t even let himself feel anything even when suger hyped-up, I like to think something else.

Dirk was the only one to really talk about and address his own feelings. He talked to Hal about screwing up with Jake, feeling inadequate and self-hatred. Sure, he didn’t fix any of his problems yet (there wasn’t a chance) but he was the one to address them.

Roxy couldn’t find anyone to talk to about being captured on Derse, And she still had regrets about not saving Jane by kissing her, and her still crush on Dirk.

Jake had problems with Dirk he needs to talk about, because running away isn’t really solving anything, as well as his friendship problems with Jane that he botched a bit ago.

And Jane is just having problems and problems stacked up on her. Dad disappeared, having Jake ignore her feelings again, being hurt/stalked by Caliborn, Cali’s death. She hadn’t even had a chance to talk about that to anyone!

So really, Dirk isn’t affected because he actually took the steps to address his own personal situation and find a way to try and fix it.

Then when we went back to Caliborn and Hussie, Hussie just stated that he is like a father to Caliborn. That is hilarious and poetic. Caliborn (who grows up to be evil) tries to kill the almighty Father that is Hussie (orange humanman) who even in death cannot be stopped.

Plus I am sure that Hussie called Cal his son at one point, and since Cal holds Caliborn’s soul the pieces all fit together.

I am glad that everyone else was just as confused reading that as I was. I felt like I was in sugar hyper-drive reading that. Although, I was more confused than just busting into tears out of sheer stupidity. It was an interesting take, glad it is done and over with. Hopefully I will never see it happen ever again. And I want to know what Hussie was even on when he thought of the concept of that entire….fever dream.
