Ok so, backstory: In ancient egypt sacarb beetles are sacred. Super sacred. Like, associated with Ra for helping create the Sun sacred. As such they became a popular choice for icons, locks, jewelry, and coffins. So Symbolically, they are connected with the idea of growth and rebirth. In practice, they were used as amulets for multiple spells protection, including mummies in their coffins.

So what I am thinking here is, those amulets are what is keeping our good good girl Agatha alive by either locking her powers or giving her energy to survive. And it is zapping the life force right out of Omar here
