Damn, that is a bit complicated

Although I get wanting to improve as you go along, then fixing the past to update it. Of course, that means that I get to see different coloring styles while continuing to read it. If I even notice it, so that would be fin.

If the original first volume was black and white, I do appreciate them going back and color it in stages. It really adds in to the “Agatha slowly awakening her powers” motif that they had set up.

when I first read this, I thought this was a jab at the other mother, with her saying that a responsible parent wouldn’t let their kids go to the Pit, when the other mom is taking her kids to the pit.

I mean, it really is, sort of, but she is also making fun of herself because she isn’t a responsible parent either.

I like to attribute it to me reading way to much Rose and sarcasm from homestuck.

ok…this is weird. Because I went back and checked, and you’re right. He had his eyes closed when he was on the train and then whacked the snake.

I was like, nah…this isn’t a thing right? So I went back to the first time where he saw the snake, ALL the way in chapter 2, and he ALSO had his eyes closed then. And that was when he didn’t have an idea of the Spirit-state at all.

So Max is able to immediately and unintentionally go into the second layer on his own without any assistance.

But with his eyes closed, we still don’t know if he is using the regular powers the other spectrals used to get into this form, or if there is something else going on.

I forgot that the bat was considered one. I think for the bat, because it was able to terrorize the other ghosts it was able to generate the fear it needed to gather and feed on to be stronger. I mean, if a bat could eat you I would be scared too.

But yeah, I believe that negative emotions can come from animals, but not like a normal “survival” type of death, like that of flies. To me, the negative emotions have to result from a curse. From something like all of the pain and suffering and torment that a creature went through before it died. A good example of what could be an animal “grunge” is something like massive animal experimentation, to the point where the spirit decides to get revenge.

A great example would come from an anime called “The Ancient Magus’s Bride” where the focus is on cats. Won’t give too much away there, but it is beautiful animation and would recommend for people to check out.

( So for this ask, the screener withheld this until after I got passed the “Jade’s Dog Prototyped” point, just for a precaution on my reactions. )

I had some valid points as to why I included Bec in the prototyping options.

First, there were a shit ton of perfectly usable mannequins to use, like John’s clown from the beginning. What would be a great twist is to use something that wasn’t a part of them, since Hussie seems to lean to the “JK” moments.

Second, like what Jade and John pointed out, there seems to be a pattern with the sprite prototyping. They were all using people/persons who are dead, and/or family.

John used dead grandma, Rose used dead cat, Dave used dead bird and originally Cal (as weird as he is, he was around long enough to be family) then his second time as himself. So to continue the patten, Jade would pick something along those lines as well. I also suggested her dead dream self, or her dead grandfather. Both dead and family, so it would fit the pattern.

Third, we had already established that living things can be prototyped. Dave was alive, even if he did go back in time, he was living at that point. So if we had a bunch of dead living relatives, why not living ones.

To be fair, I was honestly leaning more to the Blue Mannequin Lady near the end of it. And John did initially pick her (until VRISKA). So I was a bit expecting the blue lady to be Gramp’s girlfriend, and then have more family living dog things maybe be added in at the second stage. I did not expect the dog to be first.
