Part 11

Like a Chilean Miner, I have risen from the depths of Finals Hell, and currently high on the fact that I have absolutely nothing to do. Like, I can weep out of joy for this right now. So I am going to be productive and do nothing but read Homestuck so the rest of the day. Because this what I choose to spend my life on.

Time to figure out what is up with these wizards. And then maybe move on the John’s Dad’s Clowns.

Part 7 End

I’m calling it for the night. I feel like I went pretty far in Act 2, but seeing how there is like 10,000 pages I don’t know if I even made a dent.

The Desert Guy from the beginning was pretty cool, like a prequel of sorts. Too bad I won’t know who he is til much later. An Older John perhaps? Or another Earth that dealt with SBURBS as well?

I still don’t know what kind of landscape John is trapped in, but my money is a computer. Don’t know what monsters lurk inside to kidnap his dad and stuffed rabbit, but at least John isn’t in danger for the most part.

I don’t think I got far plot wise, but it was very entertaining to actually be in control of John for a while. And the clown has some plot relevance, what I don’t know. I know it’s going to talk someday, it’s just a matter of when

Part 6 End

ACT 1 End

So yeah, I am going to call it here for the night. I figure it’s a good spot to end seeing how I reached the end of the first part.

It took a while to get used to the set-up of homestuck. I was not expecting code jargon being so integral to the story, with the Storage Systems. But Hussie managed to make that very entertaining with John’s problematic Stacks and Queues. But as soon as I knew that Homestuck would keep me on my toes with its nonsense, I adjusted quite well to the story. John acts like a normal kid, and chats with other normal kids. It was cool to see Rose first through her user handle before actually meeting her. And It was cool to actually get to know her like how we know John. I love how Hussie, even when dealing with people’s trolling, still uses the dumb commands as a way for character development. And meeting Rose in this way does support my theory that the chat friends will all be main characters at some point.

Though I still have my questions, like is Rose’s mother really evil, or is that just pre-teen angst? What was the purpose of the SBURB game, and why is it turning houses into a real life sims game? What the fuck is with the floating blue hell clown? and HOLY SHIT JOHN JUST GOT NUKED!!!!!!!

But yes, even though I am still unsure what homestuck is about, I am a lot more comfortable reading it now than at the start, and cannot wait to see how this plays out

Part 5 End

alright, that is it for this round. I have some stuff I got to take care of for school. I might not have a consistent schedule, but I will try to return to this soon within the next few days.

I will say that the comic’s mechanics are beginning to grow on me, especially the “in-game storage”, and it also helps that we have some action to avoid death by meteor. Seeing Rose and knowing from prior knowledge about Rose does help my theory that everyone in John’s chat will be introduced sooner or later. So just gonna wait patiently for that.
